Welcome to repealofgravity.com. This is the website of Louis J. Cassorla, who ran for president of the United States of America in the 02008 election cycle. I expect to soon move my blog to the main page of my site, and to keep the campaign site's archive available. That means that this current home page will disappear. It's worth mentioning here that I am absolutely thrilled that the Americal electorate has chosen Barack Obama as the next president. Congratulations, to the U.S.A. and to the world! Things should finally start getting better. (Fingers crossed.) The idea of my campaign was fairly simple. Basically, it boiled down to this: Voting is a good thing. Voting for the conventional candidates (those presented by the political parties) may not be a good thing for you—and you may even find the prospect to be unpalatable. I was merely volunteering my name as an alternative. I did not seek a victory and I did not get one. Instead, I aimed to help send a message. I am a believer in the ideals of democracy. I am also a believer that our current political system does not uphold those ideals very well—not because it is a constitutionally flawed system, but rather because it has evolved (devolved?) into an unhealthy situation. Here's how the math worked in 2004:
To that, I say, "Hogwash!" |

| *** The main site was always fairly static (much more static, in fact, than I ever intended) and was very much "on message". The same has not been so true of the blog. As such, I decided not to subject the blog to the same sort of rigorous archiving as the main site. It is still an honest reflection of who I am, how I think, and what I stand for, however. |
